About Me

Our Story

Sheri and I have been married since the fall of 2013, after meeting each other on a year long missions trip called the World Race, which is a program under a larger organization called Adventures In Missions (AIM). The World Race is a year long missions trip that allowed us to serve alongside  existing ministries, churches, and organizations all over the world. This trip was truly such an incredible time for both of us, as it brought us into new levels of intimacy with the Lord, and fostered a heart for the nations in each of us. And obviously, we met each other. We were engaged the day we got back home, and married only three months after that, immediately leaving the country again on one way tickets to Indonesia.

We lived and worked overseas for the first two years of our marriage, hopping around for a while with different ministries or opportunities, before settling down in Mongolia for 15 months, working [somewhat] normal jobs and trying to live missionally wherever the Lord had us. But however hard we tried, we couldn’t escape the World Race. We ran into around a dozen different World Race teams all over the world, and couldn’t help feeling like we had unfinished business with Adventures. We finally accepted an invitation to come on staff with AIM, and moved to their headquarters in Gainesville, GA in the fall of 2015, to pursue opportunities to disciple, train, and mobilize young adults onto the mission field.

Our Hearts

This call to discipleship and mobilization is something the Lord has been continually revealing to us since we’ve been married. Our hearts are for Unreached People Groups, the large portion of the world that do not have access to the Gospel, due to the lack of an indigenous evangelical body of believers among their language and culture. Not only are these people not Christian, they don’t have access to the Gospel. It is likely that the majority of people living in these Unreached People Groups will die without ever even having a chance to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

The majority of people in these groups live in what is referred to as the 10/40 window, a region that stretches from North Africa to South East Asia, across the Middle East and Central/South Asia, roughly defined by the 10 and 40 degree North Latitude lines.

Our hearts are not only to reach these people, but to mobilize others to work in the 10/40 window among these Unreached Groups. The 10/40 window contains 97% of the world’s unreached population, yet only .0005% of the money that is spent on Christian missions actually goes to these people. If you were to line up every Christian in the world and choose one at random, the person you chose would be more likely to die in a plane crash than be someone that works in the 10/40 window. The situation is dire! That is our passion: to educate, train, disciple, and mobilize people into this region, so that God’s mandate to make disciples in every tribe, tongue, and nation may be fulfilled.

Our Work

We are beyond blessed to currently be working in ways that line up with both our passions and our giftings. I have a unique role in this organization that allows me to basically steer the AIM’s attention towards the 10/40 window as much as I can. I design trips (including entire year-long World Race routes) that operate solely in the 10/40 window. I oversee all major logistics details, obstacles, and last minute emergencies of our teams in these regions. And I help train and educate our participants on the 10/40 window, the importance of reaching  people in this region, and how to work effectively among the people and churches in this region.

Additionally, my wife and I oversee a department at Adventures called “Kingdom Journeys”, which is a new program we’ve adapted to facilitate our expanding work into this region. These are mid-term alumni trips that help pioneer these  spiritually strategic new regions, allowing us insight to send in teams behind them, develop networks of hosts and partners in these regions, and allow our alumni opportunity for work and exposure in these regions. We organize, plan, and direct these trips, as well as put together the teams of alumni and mobilize them out onto the field. These trips have helped us expand AIM’s capacity for ministry all over the world, especially in places of high spiritual need. In this sense, we truly are being able to live out our passion to mobilize people into the 10/40 window.

Our Need

While we are on salary, we are required to raise a percentage of our yearly income to help facilitate and support our ministry with this organization. We are currently looking for monthly donors to help us reach our goal of $600 per month, by contributing $25, $50, or $100+ in monthly support. We would love to talk to you more about our hearts and our work here at Adventures – our heart is really to have a support base that knows us and respects the work we’re doing. All donations are tax deductible and can be made through this page here, by clicking on the “Support Us!” tab in the menu on the left. We look forward to hearing from you, and having you as part of our team.

Much love,

   -Danny and Sheri Weiss
